Appropriate Dress Code for All Starbucks Levels

The appropriate dress code for all Starbucks levels is as follows.

Manager Dress Code

First, dress like you would for any other job in the workforce.

This usually means wearing a suit or skirt/pantsuit with blouses or nice shirts.

An excellent set of shoes are also recommended to show that you take pride in your appearance.

For example, if you’re interviewing for an assistant manager position, then dress more formally than if you’re interviewing for an entry-level barista position.

It’s not about looking trendy; it’s about looking professional and respectable.

Cleanliness counts, too, so make sure that there’s no visible dirt on your clothes, including underwear stains.

As a general rule, don’t wear something unless you feel comfortable and confident in it; how you present yourself speaks volumes about who you are.

At this level, managers will often have their own office space (or cubicle), meaning they won’t be exposed to food spills and drips from customers.

Make sure that your shoes are shined and always clean.

And before you leave for your interview, remember to stop by the restroom and freshen up.

Makeup isn’t necessary, but some people choose to wear it anyway.

Just remember: when going into interviews with multiple people (such as interviewing for various positions), dress appropriately according to each one.

What to Wear to a Starbucks Interview

The dress code for Starbucks interviews is business casual.

You can dress more casually if you apply in the afternoon, but you will need to be more formal if using it in the morning.

We recommend wearing a suit or a blazer with slacks and dress shoes.

While we don’t have an exact definition of business casual, we would say it means pants, a collared shirt, and closed-toe shoes.

Lastly, don’t forget your resume.

Starbucks Interview Tips

1. Have your outfit ready the night before.

This is important because it’ll take you out of your comfort zone and make sure you have no excuses to go for it.

2. Dress for the position you want, not the one you currently have.

3. Make sure your shoes are comfortable and make an excellent first impression with their style and design (no clunky sneakers).

4. Wear minimal jewelry so as not to distract from your outfit’s message (no dangly earrings or necklaces unless they’re fine enough).

5. Do your hair. It sounds like a small detail, but how you look can be the difference between pretty cute and wow.

The only time where I don’t suggest doing anything to your hair is if it’s wet or dirty from working out. Ponytail it into a bun at the top of your head and hope for the best.

6. Put on makeup (Optional). We know you know this already, but we feel like we should remind all our ladies that wearing makeup doesn’t mean looking like you’re going clubbing. It just means making yourself look presentable.

Choose an eye shadow color in subtle shades such as taupe or smoky brown.

Conclusion

What to wear to a Starbucks interview! We recommend you dress conservatively when you go in for your Starbucks interview.

A suit is always appropriate, but we suggest wearing khakis with a button-up shirt if you don’t have one.

If it’s hot out, wear something light and breathable.

You never want the interviewer to think that you’re not paying attention or are overly sweaty because of what you’re wearing.
