Nigeria stands at a defining moment in its pursuit of unity, stability, and progress. The nation’s diverse cultures and identities are their strength, yet persistent social divides, governance inefficiencies, and political fragmentation continue to threaten national cohesion. The 2025 Policy Challenge seeks bold, innovative, and practical policy reforms that can strengthen social cohesion and foster a more unified Nigeria.

This competition is more than just an intellectual exercise—it is an opportunity to drive meaningful change. The Future Pathways Development Initiative (FPDI) invites Nigeria’s brightest young minds to propose well-researched, actionable policy solutions that address governance and social unity.

Eligibility

  • Open to undergraduate students currently enrolled (full-time or part-time) in a Nigerian tertiary institution during the 2024/2025 academic year.
  • Must be at least 18 years old by August 2025.
  • Minimum of 2 members, maximum of 4 per team.
  • All team members must be from the same tertiary institution.
  • All team members must be available to attend the Policy Conference in Abuja on August 12, 2025 if selected.

Judging Criteria

  • Feasibility – Can your ideas be realistically implemented?
  • Innovation – Are your solutions bold and groundbreaking?
  • Impact – Will your policy reforms enhance social cohesion and national unity?
  • Evidence-Based Arguments – Are your recommendations backed by research and data?
