The decision to adopt a regional restriction for new Resilience grants in 2024 reflects Mama Cash’s commitment to rebalancing its grantmaking portfolio. This prioritization aims to ensure that the majority of funding in 2024 is directed towards core, long-term, and flexible initiatives, while also maintaining transparency about participatory grantmaking processes, institutional priorities, and staffing constraints.

Eligibility criteria for the Resilience Fund are as follows:

  • Open to self-led feminist organizations and initiatives based in Africa, West Asia, East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania.
  • Applicants not based in the specified regions will not be considered for new Resilience Fund grants this year.
  • Organizations and initiatives must operate from a feminist perspective, with a focus on women’s, girls’, trans people’s, and/or intersex people’s rights.
  • They must be self-led by the individuals they serve and prioritize the promotion of human rights as their primary mission.
  • Advocacy for structural and fundamental change is essential, with a focus on addressing under-addressed and/or contested issues within their context.

The Resilience Fund offers grants ranging from €5,000 to €50,000 per year, with an average grant size of €35,000. The deadline for applications is March 17, 2024.
