Job Description
- To ensure that cost-justifiable IT capacity exists and is matched to the current and future agreed needs of the business in a timely manner.
- To ensure that the level of service availability delivered in all service is matched to or exceeds the current and future agreed needs of the business in a cost effective manner.
- To ensure that Events are detected, analyzed and appropriate control of action determined.
- To develop, implement and manage Capacity/Availability processes in line with IT and Enterprise Management strategies and best practices.
- Prepare capacity Plan which reflects the current and future needs of the business in preparing the budget for IT Infrastructure operations and services
- Prepare Availability Plan which reflects Single Points of Failure remediation in preparing the budget for IT Infrastructure operations and services
- Production and maintenance of an appropriate and up-to-date Availability Plan, which reflects the current and future needs of the business
- Production and maintenance of an appropriate and up-to-date Capacity Plan, which reflects the current and future needs of the business
- Provide advice and guidance to all other areas of the business and IT on all availability, capacity and performance related issues
- Ensure that service performance achievements meet or exceed all of their agreed performance targets, by managing and reporting IT Service performance and targets
- Ensure IT Application and Services do not exceed Availability Allowable downtimes in order to meet all IT Availability targets
- Performs High Availability tests on all IT critical services in order to identify Single Points of Failures, deal with findings and provide recommendations
- Provide High Availability Reports and Recommendations
- Assist with the diagnosis and resolution of performance- and capacity-related incidents and problems
- Assess the impact of all changes on the Capacity and Availability of IT services
- Modeling capacity forecasts using systems and business metrics
- Managing workload assignments across environment achieving optimal performance.
- Performing second level problem determination using monitoring and data collection tools in capacity related disciplines
- Analyzing performance data identifying bottlenecks and recommending alternative resolutions
- Producing ad hoc resource usage reports and analysis
- Identify production capacity risks in time to avoid service interruption or degradation
- Participate in all Customer Experience meeting in order to identify Availability and Capacity issues and deal with them
- Support the Division’s internal customers and provide solutions to improve the customer experience regarding Availability and Capacity

Requirements, Experience & Training
Education:
- First degree in Computer Science or any Information Technology( IT) related discipline
- Fluent in English
- ITIL Foundation certificate at the minimum
- Operating System Certification preferably Oracle or Windows
Experience:
- 3 – 7 years’ experience in an area of specialisation; with experience working with others
- Experience working in a medium organization
- Hands- on experience on Service Availability monitoring tools
- Any other Capacity and performance management tool knowledge will be added advantage
- Performance testing and capacity planning work experience in a technical environment
- IT Availability/Capacity Management deep understanding
- Good understanding of methodologies and the impact of the technology in question (ITIL Certificate preferred)

Engineer, NSMC Satellite NOC (Supervisory)
Department: Network Operations

Job Description
- Provide network management of all Satellite network related faults i.e. Configuration, Integration, Service Activation and Operations to ensure optimal network performance, as well as meet business objectives/plans
- Oversee network management; faults detection, analysis, troubleshooting, escalation and resolution of all Satellite network related faults, all year round.
- Acknowledge sites’ status on the Linkstar NMS and perform second-line maintenance of Satellite network faults.
- Work with Satellite support Engineer or Contractor to bring up new Satellite connection (Vsat) for corporate customer.
- Perform and Co-ordinate Antenna Line-Up Test for a new Satellite Backbone BTS site as well as check on all satellite network elements in MTNN.
- Oversee Configuration and of Satellite modems and DVB Receiver e.g. Paradise(P300, PD-10, PD-25), Radyne Comstream, DMD-15/DMD-20, SDM 4000, EF Data as well as daily reading of Satellite backbone connection of both National and International Voice Gateways to ensure continuous service availability.
- Perform/escalate Real Time Performance/Management of all Satellite network elements for effectiveness and provide daily reports for the next action to be carried out to improve network quality.
- Prepare Satellite Modem Data Interface cable to DB-connector and cross connect to MDF cut over to STM Link.
- Act as interface and also provide access reference number to MTN Contractors, Field Engineers, Operational Maintenance Center and Datacoms Engineers for planned work/change request and access to all MTN Location.
- Perform SATNOC duties as instructed by Satellite NOC Co-ordinator, e.g., correlation of outages, reporting, follow-up and resolution of specific network faults.
- Assist in the development of an automated process and effective environment to improve the performance of SATNOC as well as the NMC Shift Hand-over and ensure strict compliance.
- Ensure proper management and implementation of all network changes according to the organisation process and procedures to achieve the departmental set goal.
- Escalate all faulty devices or hardware detected after troubleshooting/diagnosing (which cannot be resolved remotely) to the Support Engineer for replacement and assist with resolution of complex faults in order to improve network performance.
- Provide service assurance support for customer in order to sustain continuous service operation according to set quality level.
- Escalate trouble tickets issued against all MTN Staff, other Corporate Customers, International providers, MTN contractors and all other unresolved faults to the Satellite NOC Co-ordinator and ensure timely resolution of such.
- Provide regular update on MTNN performance and other network issues to all the stake holders (Management, escalation unit, customer relations, and marketing) and other relevant department in MTNN.

Job Description
- To manage and develop trade infrastructure and the channels of distribution especially retailers for Financial Services and ensure dominance at retail in the assigned territory.
- To manage customer acquisition for financial services within assigned territories
- To manage operation and acquisition of merchant network within assigned territory
- Ensure acquisition and growth of revenue generating agents, customers, merchants and ensures they are transacting
- Provide Informal training in shops on products, services and promotions being run relating to financial services and carry out on the spot training/coaching of all visited outlets in territory ( 100% of all visited outlets in call cycle)
- Manage events and promos, generate sub-dealer specific promo specification and perform post-promo evaluation
- Provide weekly/monthly sales activity report, market intelligence report and initial report to Field Service Engineers on state of network in territory
- Monitor and report back on network quality and other sales impacting indices in territory covered
- Ensure call cycle time of 8-10 visit a day per territory or as business requires
- Identify, classify and support all players in channels of distribution and ensure weekly / monthly database update
- Ensure availability of financial services product availability in channel is >95% at all times and provide weekly product availability report of all visited outlets during call cycles

- Obtain and record info on stocking from ALL visited outlets in territory (where from, when, price, where to & why still pending >30days) and report weekly / monthly.
- Provide training on site to Increase product knowledge
- Ensure product availability in channel is >95% at all times and provide weekly product availability report of all visited outlets during call cycles

- Confirm that retail agents and dealer branches are contacted and stock receipt / movement verified – Produce weekly report
- Ensure areas in your territory without adequate TP or sub dealer presence is filled by encouraging TP or sub dealers to move into area.
- Build relationship between lower and upper levels (i.e. between Authorize distributors and sub dealers), Support Trade partners and Sub dealers and link subs, retailers etc to Trade Partners and help nurture the relationship
- Resolve all issues/queries with regards to activations, products and promotions
- Ensure collaboration between sub subs, retailers etc to TPs and help nurture the relationship and increase RRP
