Position Summary
- PHIS3 seeks a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Surveillance (MES) Senior Analyst to support Health Information activities in the project.
- The MES Senior Analyst will assist the development, implementation, supervision, monitoring, evaluation, and surveillance data management.
- These functions will include generation of HIV program data, provision of support for data reviews, data analysis, and development of presentations.
Responsibilities
- Support implementation, review, analysis and dissemination of monitoring, evaluation, and surveillance activities of the project
- Support review of monitoring, and surveillance data on NDR and provision of feedback to required stakeholders
- Carry out analytics and prepare presentation slides for communication
- Contribute to innovation and inventions that will simplify and automate processes on the project
- Support Surveys, Surveillance, M&E, and operational research activities in NASCP
- Ensure timely data collection, entry, review, and collation of program data – both from health facilities and the community.
- Perform data cleaning and verify the authenticity and accuracy of the data
- Work closely with M&E and MIS teams to develop and/or review data management systems including data security, analysis plan, dissemination aids, and templates.
- Provide technical assistance to build the capacity of staff in database design, development and implementation, data management, analysis, and reporting.
- Develop and implement a capacity-building program for health care workers and other data handlers on the use of FMOH and other reporting tools.
- Develop and implement a plan of building the capacity of staff in data management including analysis, use, and dissemination.
- Participate in project-led special initiatives, surveys, and studies and provide technical assistance in data management and report writing.
- Assist in writing/editing guidelines/SOPs for data entry, management, and analysis.
- Provide technical guidance in strategies for improving the quality of data from health facilities and the community and overall data dissemination and utilization at the project level.
- Participate in data review meetings at various levels, including project level.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Social Science, Medical Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Technology, or a related field
- MPH or MSC epidemiology or any public- health-related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in data collection, Surveys, or M&E activities
- Experience with IT, Computer Science, Health informatics, or related field will be an added advantage
- Skills in MS office. infographics and health informatics, Google sheets, Power BI, DHIS, Tableau
- At least 3 years experience in Data management and data analysis.
- Research and reporting
- Experience working at the national level on health programs with knowledge and experience with data collection and analysis
- Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health system, and HIV/AIDS response.
- Cooperative, competent, hardworking, flexible, and dependable in a multi-cultural, open office situation
- Ability to organize and coordinate information and logistics for programs and activities.
- Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines, and intense pressure to perform
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data management, analysis, and reporting
- Knowledge of the National Data Repository
- Knowledge of health and development programs in developing countries in general and Nigeria specifically
- Ability to manage tight deadlines and deliver high volumes of work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to travel within Nigeria 25% time.
