Job Title: Geologist
Location: Nigeria
Description
- At Nestoil, we’re on an evolutionary journey where we’re changing our story. We are looking to hire an experienced Geologist to join our diverse team in Neconde Energy Limited.
- In this role, you will provide geosciences support for Neconde OML-42 assets (fields and reservoirs) by providing up-to date reservoir descriptions, supporting quality estimates of hydrocarbon volumes and reserves, and participating in field development activities, exploration, and production optimization activities.
Responsibilities
As a Geologist you will be responsible for:
- Interpreting seismic data to enable mapping of exploration opportunities and remapping of mature fields/reservoirs.
- Maintaining up-to-date structural and stratigraphic descriptions of reservoirs including regional descriptions of reservoir systems.
- Developing a solid understanding of depositional environments and fault frameworks of fields and reservoirs.
- Liaising with geophysicists to ensure new technologies are adopted to improve geologic interpretations of reservoirs.
- Working in a multifunctional team to identify well drilling opportunities.
- Having a working knowledge of well-log interpretation.
- Working seamlessly with Petroleum Engineers to optimize hydrocarbon resources and production in OML 42.
- Maintaining up-to-date structural maps and reservoir property maps of assigned fields and reservoirs. Ensure that maps incorporate all available information, and that uncertainties in maps and estimates of original and remaining hydrocarbon in-place volumes are understood.
- Characterizing reservoirs and build geologic models for reservoir simulation using up to date tools and best practices.
- Participating in decision-making during drilling and workover activities.
- Routine provision of geological insight into well and reservoir challenges towards resolving problems.
Requirements
What are we looking for?
