Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and implementation of an integrated marketing plan (including print and digital media) for the institution
- Provide guidance in the rebranding effort underway that focuses on the University’s value proposition.
- Apply market research and awareness of current trends and technology to establish the priorities for the University’s marketing and communications efforts.
- Ensure the key marketing messages and value messages are integrated in the creation and strategy for all communications.
- Foster a campus-wide team approach to developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing and communications programme for the University.
- Oversee and lead the marketing and communications plan for comprehensive campaigns.
- Manage the University’s website and digital marketing content; coordinating broadcast e-mail activities and engagement using social media platforms; writing, design, and production of brochures, catalogues, programmes, postcards, and other print material; and photography, video of campus events.
- Manage operations of the Marketing, Branding and Communications functions through budget development and control, personnel supervision, performance review and evaluation, and staffing.
- Retain approval authority for all University print and digital publications for all communications and marketing strategies and programmes, and for the University’s graphic design and identity standards.
- Measure and assess the University’s marketing efforts and develop and manage the annual marketing strategy development and assessment reporting.
- Oversee the activities of all units within the Marketing Department
- Provide strong leadership and ensure clear strategic objectives are in place; and manage the day-to-day performance of team members
- Promote a strong team culture within the department.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related discipline
- Master’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related discipline will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of seven (7) years’ of increasingly responsible marketing and communications experience
- Experience in academic branding and media relations in a higher education or not-for-profit setting
- Experience using digital marketing tools and technology.
- In-depth knowledge of marketing, communications, media & public relations, management and budgeting principles and practices.
