The Friends of Burkina Faso/Les Amis du Burkina Faso (FBF) is currently accepting proposals for its grant program.

Proposed projects must be related to community development or related to humanitarian assistance. In the area of ​​community development, this year special priority will be given to one or more projects focused on girls’ education opportunities.

Friends of Burkina Faso/Les Amis du Burkina Faso (FBF) is a United States-based charitable organization, founded in 1987. They are a small non-profit organization, standing in solidarity with the people of Burkina Faso. Since 2002, FBF has supported small community-led development projects in Burkina Faso.

Priorities
  • Overall, FBF gives priority to proposals:
    • initiated by Burkinabè people,
    • responding to one or more needs expressed by the potential beneficiary community potential,
    • managed by a competent non-governmental organization willing to assume fiduciary responsibilities, and
    • strengthening institutional capacity, as evidenced by the participation of local communities in project activities and leadership.
Funding Information
  • Given the limited fundraising capacity, they can only fund requests ranging from USD $5,000 to $15,000 with a clear community focus and well-defined, sustainable social benefits.

Eligibility Criteria
  • FBF only works with non-profit organizations that are recognized by the government of Burkina Faso and possess a valid receipt. Additionally, organizations must have a valid bank account (the Post Office does not qualify) and must commit to submitting receipts, an interim report, a final report, and photos illustrating the progress of the project.
