Brickstone’s early-stage project development competencies apply throughout the entire process of developing capital-intensive projects; but with the objective of ensuring profitability and protect its long-term asset value for sponsors.
Femi Awofala founded Brickstone Africa in 2009 as a Real Estate Advisory firm but have evolved into becoming an early-stage infrastructure accelerator in conjunction with a team of professionals having vast commercial and financial management experience range from sourcing, developing, closing and delivering equity, project/ corporate finance and other contractual structures across major infrastructure projects in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Job Description
- Brickstone Graduate Internship Programme (“GIP”) provides the ideal opportunity to gain experience and enhance your technical and professional skills increasing your knowledge of Financing Large Scale Projects and laying the foundations for your future career at Brickstone Africa.
- This internship is strictly open Pre-NYSC, NYSC and 0 – 2 year (Post-NYSC) who have completed the FMVA certification course and have attained the use of FMVA
- Brickstone acknowledges that the FMVA certification provides all the skills, tools, and techniques required to excel within the Brickstone Graduate Internship Programme. This is a hybrid fulltime role (Both Online and Physical) preferred candidates should be living or commuting daily from within Lagos Mainland.

Areas of Focus During Brickstone Gip Internship
Business Presentation:
You would work in a team where your role will include:
- Developing a knowledge of industry research documentation for Powerpoint Slides. Every presentation you work on is different both in content and form.
- You will be exposed to business content from every practice (e.g., Healthcare, Energy, Infrastructure, Real Estate) all of them with different guidelines, from creating interesting information-researched content, flow charts and optimizing visuals/frameworks to convey the message, to complex data analysis charts and communication ideation to our clients using PowerPoint Presentation
- These presentations will be for different audiences and for different purposes which also gives you an understanding of the Infrastructure context and how we work at Brickstone.
Financial Modelling:
You would work in a team where your role will include:
- Building financial models using historical data and providing forecasts based on various industry-related operating metrics.
- Recommending and Implementing process for improvements to budget and prepare forecast for company.
- Identifying the key financial and non-financial risks, recommending actions for mitigation of those risks.
- Applying appropriate sensitivity and scenario analysis to support investment actions.
Project Management:
You would work in a team where your role will include:
- Identifying project and client requirements for various projects
- Develop Progress Reports on a monthly/weekly/daily basis, as progress and commitments are made.
- Balancing the competing demands for quality, scope, time and cost in projects assigned to.
Probation
- There would be a probation period of One (1) month, upon conclusion of the probation.
Skills We Require
Technical Skills:
- Completed the FMVA certification course and have attained the use of FMVA
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs – Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Good financial modelling, understanding Financial Projections and valuation skills
- Ability to efficiently gather, process and analyse data as well as make Pitch Decks in PowerPoint.
Other Requirements:
- 0 – 2 Experience but with Minimum of a Second-Class Upper in Any Degree
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly, Working with minimal supervision, Strong team skills
- Well-presented with good interpersonal skills
- Demonstration of Core Interest in Investment Banking Corporate Finance, Project Finance and Financial Advisory is a strong advantage
Payroll Consideration
- Interns would be given a Stipend of NGN 75,000 per month for an initial period of Two (2) or Three (3) months.
