Call For Applications: Africa Health Communications Fellowship 2025
This fellowship is designed for professionals who want to enhance their skills and drive meaningful change in public health through effective communications. Apply to be part of a network of changemakers dedicated to strengthening health communication across the continent.
The dissemination of health information in Africa faces significant challenges due to gaps in health reporting skills and the effective communication of health research. Recognizing the pivotal role that communications play in public health awareness and the translation of health research into public knowledge, fray-college, is hosting a novel fellowship program for journalists and health experts to reinvigorate the coverage of health and development stories in Africa.

The 9-month fellowship will support two collaborative cohorts comprising health journalists and health sector experts offering access to bespoke training workshops, resources, and grant support aimed at improving the quality of health reporting in Africa.

Eligibility
- Open to Health journalists, experts from Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Zambia, Malawi and Ethiopia;
- Journalists should have some experience in reporting on health issues and ideally work for a publication or media house;
- A ‘health expert’ could be a scientist, researcher, public health official, policy maker, community health worker, academic, civil society campaigner or activist.
