Call For Applications: Access Bank Climate Leadership Fellowship 2024 [Cohort 6]
The country faces significant challenges such as drought, desertification, flooding, and disrupted rainfall patterns, which negatively affect health, wellbeing, and the environment. Agricultural yields in the north have plummeted, leading to high poverty rates, while the south struggles with extreme flooding and waterborne diseases.
In response to these challenges, Climate Smart Nigeria, in partnership with Glow Initiative for Economic Empowerment and supported by Access Bank PLC, is investing in a new generation of young energy leaders to drive energy transition and climate action across Nigeria.
The Climate Leadership Fellowship (Cohort VI) aims to provide expert training for individuals passionate about making a difference in climate leadership, renewable energy applications, climate advocacy, diplomacy, and finance. The program covers a range of topics, including data-driven climate advocacy and awareness, the climate finance landscape, and the Green Climate Fund. Additionally, it focuses on clean cooking, clean energy, solar power, and waste-to-energy sectors, equipping fellows with the knowledge and skills needed to drive positive climate action.
After training, fellows will adopt a school or community to teach climate education, grooming young leaders to promote a climate-resilient nation. Fellows will receive a climate education toolkit and a certificate of climate leadership.
