The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) is one of the eleven electricity distribution companies that emerged after the unbundling of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).The company is saddled with the primary responsibility of distributing and marketing electricity to end users within the five states in the South-East geo-political zone; namely: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo, with a total of 18 Business Districts offices across these states.

Job Description

  • Liaises with Police Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and other Heads of Security Agencies in the District.
  • Liaises with traditional rulers, President Generals (PGs) of communities, leaders of vigilante/Neighbourhood watch groups and other stakeholders.
  • Extract/Report and ensuring the arraignment of suspects where necessary for subsequent takeover by the Legal Department of the Company.
  • Promptly alerts Government Security agencies on perceived threats/attacks on EEDC assets during demonstrations by aggrieved customers or labour activists.
  • Conducts routine risk and threat assessment on EEDC assets and advises the Network Manager on the need to promptly address the identified risks.
  • Supervises the activities and duties of outsourced security guards in his Area of Responsibility.
  • Organizes at least two quarterly security perception management meetings with critical stakeholders.
  • Timely report of incidents adversely affecting EEDC operations to the Police and Head Security.
  • Making sure that appropriate charges are made on cases billed for court.
  • Guides and assists staff to make statements at the Police Station.
  • Closely monitors Police investigations on cases involving EEDC, obtaining Police

Qualifications

  • BSc / HND in any field
  • Not below the rank of a Superintendent or its equivalent
  • Below 60 years
  • Must be a retired officer from any government security agencies
  • Experience in people management.
