Key Responsibilities:
- Farm Operations Management:
- Oversee all aspects of fruit production, including planting, cultivating, and harvesting.
- Ensure that crops are grown according to schedule and farm management plans.
- Monitor the health of crops, including pest and disease control, irrigation, and fertilization.
- Organize the proper use and maintenance of farming equipment and machinery.
- Team Supervision & Staff Management:
- Supervise farm workers, assigning tasks and ensuring they are completed efficiently and to standard.
- Train and provide guidance to new employees, including safety procedures, equipment handling, and quality control.
- Monitor staff performance and provide feedback or conduct performance evaluations.
- Ensure that labor laws and farm safety protocols are followed.
- Harvesting & Quality Control:
- Plan and oversee the timing of harvest to ensure fruits are collected at peak ripeness.
- Supervise sorting, grading, and packing of fruit to meet market or customer specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections of crops to ensure the quality and quantity meet industry standards.
- Ensure that any damaged or defective produce is properly disposed of.
- Farm Equipment & Maintenance:
- Oversee the proper operation and maintenance of farm equipment, including tractors, sprayers, irrigation systems, and harvesters.
- Ensure that equipment is maintained regularly to avoid downtime and breakdowns.
- Manage inventory of tools, machinery, and farm supplies.
- Record Keeping & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of planting schedules, crop yields, pesticide and fertilizer applications, and harvest dates.
- Prepare reports on farm production, labor, and financial expenses for farm owners or management.
- Monitor the farm’s budget, ensuring that resources are used effectively and efficiently.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols for all farm operations, including the safe use of equipment and the handling of chemicals.
- Ensure compliance with local agricultural laws, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and emergency drills with staff.
- Communication & Coordination:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between farm management and workers.
- Communicate regularly with farm owners or managers to report on progress and discuss any concerns or improvements.
- Coordinate with other agricultural businesses, vendors, or suppliers as necessary for the purchase of supplies or distribution of harvested produce.

Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required). A degree in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field may be preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in farming, especially in fruit production, is typically required. Leadership or supervisory experience is also beneficial.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Knowledge of agricultural practices, crop management, and pest control.
- Familiarity with farm machinery and equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of budget management and farm financials.
