Call For Applications: Regional Teacher Facility for Africa, Innovative Solutions For Teacher Training In Sub- Saharan Africa
This call for proposals is part of the Regional Teacher Facility for Africa – a cornerstone of the Regional Teacher Initiative for Africa – which supports policy reforms, innovations, and research in key areas of teacher governance. teachers, their training, and professional development. It promotes collaboration between teachers, teacher trainers, and policy makers in sub-Saharan Africa and establishes strategic and technical partnerships with Europe. The Facility is implemented by Expertise France, Enabel, VVOB, APEFE and EDUFI.
We are pleased to announce the two calls for proposals aimed at supporting initiatives led by public and non-state actors to improve teacher training and professional development in sub-Saharan Africa.
- Call for Proposals 1 (“Innovative Solutions for Teacher Training”) managed by Enable/Wehubit focuses on identifying and supporting the scaling of innovative solutions to improve the quality, relevance, and effectiveness of initial and continuing professional training of teachers.
- Call for Proposals 2 (“Support for teachers in crisis contexts”) managed by Expertise France addresses the acute challenges faced by educators in fragile and crisis contexts affected by conflict, displacement, or natural disasters, where teachers must adapt their teaching methods, manage stress and trauma, and work with limited resources.

How to participate in the call for proposals 1 (Innovative solutions)?
If you are interested in applying for a grant under Call for Proposals No. 1, we invite you to download the guidelines and carefully read all the information relating to the procedure. These documents contain all the necessary information and instructions to follow to submit your project.
If you believe that your project complies with the guidelines, please access the online application form and click on the “APPLY” button. In this application form you will need to answer questions and upload the required documents (see guidelines). Templates are provided in the web form. Applicants must ensure that their forms and annexes are complete. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
Please note that this is not the online application form for the second call for proposals, managed by Expertise France and aimed at strengthening teacher performance and the quality of education in fragile contexts. More information on this other call for proposals n°2 is available here.
