Job Title: Technical Sales Engineer

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Technical Sales Engineer will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth by combining technical expertise with strong sales acumen.
  • This position requires a deep understanding of oil and gas technologies, products, and services, as well as the ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate the value proposition to clients.
  • The Technical Sales Engineer will work closely with the Business Development Manager to bridge the gap between product/service capabilities and customer needs.

Key Accountabilities
The Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of oil and gas industry products, technologies, and solutions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies.
  • Provide technical support to customers and address inquiries related to products and services.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development & Sales Manager to understand customer requirements and offer tailored solutions.
  • Create and deliver technical presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations to potential clients.
  • Provide technical support to the Business Development & Sales Manager during customer meetings, negotiations, and the sales cycle
  • Provide technical input during the proposal and bidding process to ensure accurate and competitive offerings
  • Assist in the development of sales strategies and participate in customer meetings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in client organizations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering technical insights and recommendations.
  • Understand customer pain points and challenges, providing solutions that align with their business objectives.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and internal technical teams to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Provide input to product/service development teams based on customer feedback and market demands.
  • Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitor offerings to identify new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of sales strategies based on technical insights and market intelligence.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development & Sales Manager to develop targeted campaigns and promotional materials.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive technical proposals and quotations.
  • Work closely with the Business Development & Sales Manager to ensure proposals meet customer needs and company objectives.
  • Visit and travel to customer sites for meetings, presentations, and technical support as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Must have 3 – 4 years work experience
  • Proven experience in technical sales within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong understanding of oil and gas processes, equipment, and technologies.
  • Understanding of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation & Commissioning (EPCIC) projects
