In 2024, the Maynard 200 Fellowship presents a transformative opportunity for frontline editors and managers, offering a comprehensive professional development training and year-long mentorship program.
Key Program Components:
- Customized Curriculum: Addressing critical issues, challenges, and tensions faced by editors and managers in the newsroom, especially those transitioning to higher leadership roles.
- Stellar Faculty: Led by journalism executives and relevant experts, providing tactical coursework to build fundamental editing and management proficiency.
- Fellowship Experience: Two weeks of in-person training rounds, supplemented by additional sessions, office hours, and year-round program support.

Cost Details:
- Tuition-free, thanks to generous funders.
- Maynard Institute covers hotel lodging for the first training week in March.
- Fellows/employers cover airfare and/or ground transportation to Fort Worth, Texas for March.
- For the second training week in July, airfare and hotel accommodations are covered by the Maynard Institute.
- Travel allocations for international fellows are capped.
Eligibility:
- Open to all, with a commitment to addressing under-representation in media-related professions.
- Applicants outside the U.S. must be affiliated with or contributing content to a U.S.-based media outlet.
